Meet Melissa
As a mother raising two daughters here in Princeton, I know what it means to make sacrifices for our children’s future.
From reading together at home to exploring museums and nature trails, I’ve worked to give my girls a strong start. When my daughter learned to ride a bike, she fell, scraped her knee, and wanted to quit. I reminded her the joy of riding comes from trying again, even when it’s hard. That same lesson inspires me to run for school board: our children deserve schools that help them persevere and thrive.
My parents came from the Deep South and the Midwest, seeking peace and opportunity. Their journey taught me that education is the key to a bright future. Now, with my girls in kindergarten and first grade, I see their future as a continuation of that legacy. That’s why I’m running—to ensure every Princeton child has the same opportunity to build a legacy of their own.
My priorities are simple:
A vision of Princeton as an A/B district, where academic excellence is the expectation.
No Neighborhood Left Behind: Common-sense safety
Every neighborhood gets a champion—your school board shows up.
My passion for education isn’t just personal—it’s professional. I’ve specialized in language teaching, trained hundreds of educators across Texas, and helped improve school zone safety right here at home. I know how to design systems that work, and I know how to keep students at the center.
At a time of rapid growth, Princeton needs leaders who understand education, managing large budgets, and governance—and who will keep the focus on students, not politics. I bring both roots and perspective: I grew up here, left to gain knowledge and experience, and came home to raise my family.
I ask for your support, your voice, and your vote. Together, we can give every Princeton student the safe, strong, and enriching education they deserve.
Join our future.
